Inspired by the traditions of bards, the ensemble tells stories during the performances. Ricardo Alves Pereira’s concept of musical narratives has found a natural home in these concerts. Written by Ricardo, the narratives told in between the pieces bind individual works together, which builds an arch over the whole performance. This unique performance technique captures the audience to be part of the tales from the British Isles. The Wandering Bard’s members are all classically trained musicians, as well as specializing in early music and folk music. Their repertory includes pieces from well known early music composers and anonymous contributors of 17th and 18th century who created the basis of traditional folk and early music. They are an international group who completed successfully a tour of the UK and have been invited to perform in various venues and festivals in Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands.
